What is massage therapy?
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of the soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, ligaments and tendons) to enhance a person’s health and well being. It helps reduce stress, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness.

Therapeutic Massage Treatments
This involves the assessment and treatment over client musculoskeletal deep tissue problems using a variety of techniques. A therapeutic massage treatment often deals with deeper musculature problems that require a more intense treatment that can sometimes be uncomfortable and not to be confused with a relaxation massage which serves a different purpose.
Clients can expect a therapeutic massage to include follow up activities in some cases including applied use of stretching techniques suggested to client and the use of hot/cold compresses on the inflamed muscular area as part of overall rehabilitation.
Sports Massage Treatments
Clients who are actively involved in sports can benefit from a sport massage prior to the event and post event along with during their training time. A Sports massage treatment involves the manipulation of soft tissue. Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma.
Pregnancy Massage Treatments
Pregnancy massage therapy will help clients going through a pregnancy with the muscle pains attributed to inflammation of muscle tissues and joints which is a common issue during pregnancy. Massage can help relieve backaches, shoulder tension, achy legs, numbness and swelling.
The massage therapy provided will help to alleviate pain and discomfort in the muscle soft tissue, help with swollen joints, and alleviate sciatic nerve pain.
Massage Theory can provide mommy’s to be a more comfortable massage treatment with our “pregnancy pillows”. This allows mommy to safely and comfortably lie on their tummy during later stages of pregnancy…Oh what a relief!!
Please select a “pregnancy massage” when booking so we can make sure a “pregnancy pillow” is available for you. We recommend that the “pregnancy pillow” be used starting 4-5 month in but if tummy lying is uncomfortable then it can be used earlier.
After having your baby when you return for your much needed massage please select “postnatal massage” for you first time back.
Relaxation Massage Treatments
This involves applying a variety of massage techniques on the Client that are aimed towards relaxing the Clients muscles and improving overall circulation. The relaxation massage treatments target reducing clients’ mental and physical stress.
Taking care of your body should not be an extravagance. It can be a normal and affordable part of your wellness plan.
